New Programs & Updates 2026
TRADITIONAL- Popular with campers and parents, we continue to offer our traditional 3 day camps for ages 6-16. Camp will likely be Sunday-Mondays-Tuesdays to avoid those low-water-Wednesdays, unless we get a really deep snowpack
KAYAK CAMP  Aaspiring campers age 10 and up learn basic maneuvering skills and navigation, concurrent with the rafting session. Instruction and location along the South Fork tailored to campers abilities
NORTH UMPQUA RIVER – Junior Guides expands to Oregon’s stunning rain forest canyon country. Expect our 3 day programs, for Ducks and Otters, to offer the same popular mix of fun, adventure and family camping
CAMP COUNSELOR program returns for ages 15-20, no experience necessary. Apply here
INTERNSHIP - new Assistant Boatman 'AB' Boat-focused Internship, ages 17-20
DIY  – Parents have been asking for a budget friendly option, hence the pilot DIY Parent-Participation Camp. Kids raft daily with our commercial rafting partner WET, yet meals, activities and other camp chores are hosted by y'all! JG has rented an entire riverfront campground adjacent to the rapid "Current Divider" for the 3 night /3 day session.
WET RAFTING COMPANY We are excited to announce our new rafting partner: WET! WET embraces rock jumping and rapid swimming kinesthetic experiences kids love. Owner Chad Richards has 35 years in the industry with 40,000 river miles under his belt, is a certified Boy Scout merit badge counselor and Swiftwater Instructor. Many of our Senior Guides already work for WET (Maddie Smith, Cassie Rubin, Owen Pope), and testify to the safe yet fun nature of his operation. On The NOrth Umpqua, we have partenred with Oregon Whitewater Adventures.
SCHOLARSHIPS A generous Memorial Fund is funding additional scholarships for Otters, Ospreys, as well as Ducks this year. The Scholarship Committee will have the application live on February 1, and close on March 1. Awardees will be notified within a week of the the application closing on March 1 (by March 7). Any scholarship monies remaining will be awarded on a rolling basis, until funds are depleted. One scholarship per family may be awarded Apply here. Email [email protected] for more information.
OSPREYS-  Back this year! Our popular week-long sleep away camp for select applicants will be led by Board President Alex Wolfgram, and many of the same Parent Volunteers from last year.  Ospreys will raft the South Fork & Middle Forks American and another river TBD (Klamath?). Application required, and is available February 1 and closes February 25. Successful applicants will be notified March 1. We wish we could take everyone, but we will maintain a wait list. Ensure your application is thorough, complete, and (new) includes a letter of recommendation or verbal reference from a high school teacher.
EARTHTREK CAMPGROUND – We are back to the beloved hospitality of Earthtrek Campground in central Coloma, as our base camp! Families who choose to stay overnight love the swimming options and comfortable spacious cabins, and Earthtrek will now accommodate Saturday arrivals (after 3pm) and has expanded space for private tents. HOW TO REGISTER  Registration opens after multi-day River Lottery permits have been awarded. Many JG sessions fill within minutes of opening; and we recognize there is a rush to register.  SO our registration forms allow fast completion; some data repopulates, and you can leave form fields blank in order to get to the payment portion quicker. After securing the spots with payment, please return to the form later that night to completely fill in your child's health data, birth date, etc.  Registration links will be date-specific, sent out ahead of time, so carefully choose. If you accidentally select the wrong date, I can't guarantee you will get your preferred date, as it may have filled by the time we are able to remedy it. If your preferred session fills, complete the wait list form; last year we will able to place over half of the 80 wait-listers into a session.

PAYMENT Full payment is required at the time of registration, via paypal or credit card. Reach out if you need a payment plan. Thanks to generous donations and fundraising, many scholarships will be awarded for Osprey, Duck and Otter programs, based on application sincerity and financial need.  JG RaftCamp Tuition monies often qualify as daycare expenses, check with your tax consultant. Scholarship applications and Work Trade information can be found here. Payment for Rafting or Kayaking is $550 per camper.
