CALIFORNIA WHITEWATER SUMMER CAMP FOR KIDS
ADVENTURE
Kids love the whitewater experience of the South Fork American River. It's class III - just the right blend of challenge and fun!
|
TEAMWORK
Campers meet kids from all over, and it takes cooperation to get a raft down a river successfully. Kids learn the value of teamwork.
|
LEADERSHIP
Our theme is "use your voice!" Each camper gets many chances to guide and lead. It's fun to yell paddling commands and cheers!

CELEBRATING 14 YEARS
|
A snowflake falls in the Sierra with the promise of wonderful whitewater in the spring.
If it melts into the watershed of the South Fork, American River, dams hold back water for daily, summer, recreational releases. When all that works, it floats our boats at Junior Guides in July! Raft Camp happens when good water and warm weather come together. The South Fork of the American River is an ideal section for beginning rafters and experienced boaters alike. It's the most popular river in the Western United States, seeing more than 100,000 paddlers a year. Our river sections are situated between Placerville and Folsom Lake California, and they pass through historic James Marshall Gold Discovery State Park in Coloma. This was the birthplace for California's 1849 Gold Rush! 170 years later, about 100 Junior Guides kids will make stories of their own. |
