Hello Junior Guides Families and Friends!
As I sit here typing on February 28, there is a BLIZZARD warning for Coloma- whoa! Storms across the Sierra remind us that it’s almost time to register... Here is information that will help you make your plans:
We’re again going to host five 3-day Monday-Wednesday camps for Otters (ages 10-16) & Ducks (ages 6-9) on the following dates*:
June 24-26
July 1-3
July 15-17
July 22-24
July 29-31
And we’ll host our third annual Ospreys camp (ages 15-18) July 7-13.
We have ditched the phenomenally disappointing website called Clubexpress, so expect registration to be similar to two years ago, with no family membership requirement. Registration with full payment is expected immediately, and cost is $475 per camper. Registration is one stop shopping: be prepared to answer questions about your child's birthdate, age, grade level, allergies, special needs/medical conditions, sign the waiver, and pay with paypal or credit card, all at one go.
To register on your date:
Registration Windows:
Saturday March 2, 7:00-10:00 PM: Returning family groups (must submit form identifying group prior to March 2. Link to registration page will be sent to group leader one day ahead, so it can be disseminated to the groups only.
Sunday, March 3, 7:00-10:00 PM: Returning families registering independently (Must have attended in 2023)
Monday, March 4, 7:00 PM: Open registration for all interested individuals, until sessions are full. The link to register will be found at this site, at the top of the page.
Waitlist sign up will be available if your preferred session is full. Last year we got over half of the wait list campers into sessions, so don't despair if you don't get registered right away. The waitlist link will be available as a tab on this website, and this link.
Information regarding returning families & groups:
Groups must be pre-approved with Junior Guides Admin, use this form to request advance registration for your select group and so we know whom to send the advance registration link to. Please choose one group leader to submit the Group request form. A note for group planning: our earliest dates tend to sell out first. If you have a larger group, consider our later dates.
Fees: There is no 'Family Membership' this year, Raft Camp cost is $475 per camper to cover our costs and scholarship commitments. There is no discount for additional family members. We understand the cost increase may be difficult for some, consider our scholarship program or parent work-opportunity called "TEAM LEADER"
More exciting updates this year:
Remember that dates can shift by a day in low water years, although reservoirs are looking full right now, and we HOPE dates don't change, mother nature will decide for us.
Our River Tribe can always include more awesome families, we encourage you to share RaftCamp reg info with all the fantastic families you know.

More exciting updates this year:
- By popular demand, we’re expanding our Ducks sessions to accommodate 18 campers aged 6-9 (up from 12 campers)
- To accommodate multiple requests, returning family groups will be allowed to include one new joiner family on early registration March 2 with a small, ‘early access donation’ earmarked specifically for our scholarship programs. New families will pay this early access donation called a 'scholarship donation fee' when they register.
- We’ve expanded the eligible age for our Ospreys program up to 18. Minimum age remains 15.
- New: Tuition credit-We need you! Parents are invited to apply for the Camp Lead Team in exchange for major tuition reduction. Lead Team Parents perform camp tasks like skit night, shirt sales, and more. To learn more, see our parent volunteer role descriptions here, and apply for Team Leader roles here . Applications are still being accepted, and there are early registration perks.
- Thanks to our generous families and benefactors, full and partial scholarships are available again this year. Complete our Junior Guides Scholarship Application here.
